The Barnes & Noble Nook Color is a 7-inch ebook tablet that was released in late 2012. It garnered praise for its vibrant color screen and speedy performance. Also welcomed was the software, which allows full access to Barnes & Noble Nook Bookstore. Additionally, users were happy with the built-in support for web-browsing, PDF, Word and ePub file, as well as some picture and video formats. Criticism was channelled towards the 8-hour battery life, average performance and lack of Android market access but regardless, the Nook Color is a capable reading tablet with a fair price tag.
Pros
- Color LED screen
- Friendly Barnes & Noble Interface
- Abundant e-book content
- Inexpensive
Cons
- Modest battery life
- Average performance
- No access to Google Play store
- Low resolution screen
Bottom Line
The Barnes & Noble Nook Color doesn’t have a lot to offer as far as full tablet functionality is concerned, but its color screen and smooth Nook interface makes it a pleasant reading device that is well worth the money.

The 8GB Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet has half the storage of the original, but still offers a great eReading experience, high-quality display, and smooth performance for less than $200.
